1 kg silverside
2ltr bottles of ginger beer
Cook on low for 7 hours. Simple, delicious and perfect. I hate ginger beer but I LOVE thisJust put on
Tonight's meal was my mum's corned silverside mix that she makes on stovetop but i converted to slowcook. Tastes amazing btw especially served wirh mash, greens and her creamy white mustard sauce (god sooo good! ) .
1 corned silverside (this one I'm near certain it was 1.4 kg)
One whole onion (peeled)
One whole peeled carrot
One teaspoon of whole black peppercorns
One table spoon of vinegar
And enough water (from tap - rain water) to just cover silverside
Add everything to SCr and put on low (i did mine for 8 and a half hours)
I only eat the silverside after wards, the other ingredients are just for flavouring it (although I'm sure you could still eat it if keen but i never have).
Happy to post sauce i made if wanted x
THIS IS SO YUMMMY I LOVE IT
White sauce
1 can evaporated milk
1 heaped teaspoon each of wholegrain mustard and Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon of corn flour
Mix all together then heat on stovetop until thickens nicely then all done (delicious!)Haven't made this for ages. Best way to cook silverside in this house! Kids always devour it and never any left overs.
